NEW ARTISTS
We have added five new artists to our Network for January, 2009.
NEW GALLERIES
Five new art galleries are negotiating with one or more of our artists.
JOINT VENTURE
Yajnavalka (www.Yajnavalka.com), a publishing house in Houston, Texas has signed up more than fifteen of our artists and continuously looking for more. We will keep you advised how things go.
ART SHOWS
We just completed Art Expo New York and represented 19 Artists at the show. Attendance and Gallery participation were down because of the economy and art did not sell well. However, growing yourself as an Artist is a process that takes time. The Artists at the show did have an opportunity to see other Artist’s work, speak with perspective buyers and Galleries and get a first hand look at the art world. I believe they have begun laying down a statement which says they are serious about their art in good times and bad. One can’t be disappointed; the market will improve and art will sell under normal circumstances again. We would have an ambitious art show schedule, however, many of the show producers are waiting for the last minute to assess all market conditions before making a final decision to have or not have the shows. We will keep you advised.
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
We have lots of plans, but subject to the economy. Many more free services for Artisan Direct Artists, including a social network/art community aspect that will be very exciting.
ECONOMIC TIMES
Little we can do, but keep plugging and create good work and position yourself for the future. My experience is that galleries actually have more time to evaluate and review an artist submission now than in normal times. We’ve been through recessions before; believe in yourself and certainly believe in your art.
KEEP THE FAITH!
Thank you for your continued support as we continue to develop resources to help artists and galleries develop their businesses.
