Art Expo Report - Day One

Dear Artisan Artists,

Admission at Expo yesterday and today is for trade only which means that we are working in a Business to Business environment.  You don’t know why people come to your both and you have to test the waters before you approach them.  When visitors come in the booth and look at a painting, you don’t know if they want to become your framer, your printer or your photographer... or if they just want to buy it.  It’s a different ballgame, but it’s a whole lot of fun.  Personally I prefer working with customers.  When they look at a painting, you know it’s because they are thinking of the possibility of hanging it in their homes or office.

Working with the customers does not start until Saturday.  From what I hear that’s when the music starts.  As for now, the traffic is light.  We’ll see and I’ll keep you posted of major turns.

Many artists were able to come to the booth:  Mauricio Bouzas, Jody Florman, Judith Brown, Bernette Rudolph, Tara Benet and Harry Doolittle.  The artists, Team Brintle, as well as Expo management are all very happy with the way the booth is being managed.  There is much professionalism, calmness and all around we all have a pleasant attitude.  This show is huge and we all have the confidence that already this is a fabulous exhibit for all and we will want to repeat the experience in the future, not just at Expo but in other exhibits as well.  I’d say, however, that the best is the camaraderie that exists in the booth.  We’re all smiling and laughing and that is priceless.  In two separate instances photographers came around and took shots of us.  We’re all part of “The Artisan Family” and it shows in our enthusiasm.

All the best,
Pat
