Marina Reiter is a Russian-born professional painter based in Washington, DC. Marina exhibits internationally, nationally and locally in conventional and alternative venues. Her art is in private and public collections nationally and internationally.
Marina’s art is about the interconnectedness of things, our complex interactions and relationships, six degrees of separation, and celebration of everything that unites us and pulls us apart. The colorful creatures that she paints are very much the “learning, playful souls” that Richard Bach wrote about. We are reaching out to connect, we touch, we teach, and we learn from one another. Sometimes these connections are happy, sometimes quite odd, but that’s what makes life colorful and beautiful. Marina’s creatures are hopeless romantics, they keep searching and reaching out, and keep trying to make the connection anyway.
Marina was born in Moscow, Russia and received her B.A. and M.A. degrees from the Moscow State University, where she studied art history, fine arts and literature. In the US Marina studied art at the Corcoran College of Art and Design.
