An Art Business News 2008 August Emerging Artist, Tara Benet’s murals and portraits can be seen throughout New York City, Palm Beach, Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles. She’s a graduate of the School of Visual Arts and has shown in competitions that exhibited at the Salvador Dali Museum and the St. Petersburg Museum of Art, both in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Tara’s work was exhibited as part of the 2009 Postcards From The Edge benefit for Visual AIDS. Participating artists included Tara, Alfredo Jaar, Cindy Sherman, Ross Bleckner, Kara Walker, Jeff Koons, Robert Longo, John Waters, Catherine Opie, Glenn Ligon, Tony Feher, Ann Hamilton, Kiki Smith, Nayland Blake, Fred Wilson, Mary Heilmann, David Armstrong, Carrie Mae Weems, Barton Lidice Benes, Adam Fuss, Jane Hammond, McDermott & McGough, Vito Acconci, John Baldessari, Louise Lawler, Marcel Dzama, Patty Chang, Paul Pfeiffer, T.J. Wilcox, Marilyn Minter, Kate Shepherd, Arturo Herrera, Julie Mehretu, Emily Jacir, Jack Pierson, Barry McGee, Slava Mogutin, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Lawrence Weiner, Annie Sprinkle, William Wegman, and Yoko Ono.

She’s also been exhibited at the La Flor Fine Art Museum (Cranford, New Jersey), and was a finalist in the National Junior Duck Stamp Competition.
